Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

Now that I think about it some more I know that I've changed my livingroom at once least a year since I have been living here. One might even see it as a small ritual that I like to perform. What happens is that I buy something new and have to make room for it amongst the old stuff. Then a few months later I throw out the old stuff and think that I have room for something new again.

Thankfully each time that I make a change it looks just a little better than it did before. The lamps, the cabinet and the chest are all new since I left college. I guess that in some way I see it as a small creative outlet for me. As I have said before my house is definitely a reflection of who I am. The look and feel of the place becomes an extension of my personality. I want some place that I can feel comfortable in and hopefully has a small amount of class to go with it.

Having the entertainment center in the bedroom was definitely a bad idea. Most of the time I couldn't hear the television or the stereo over the air conditioner and was forced to listen to everything much louder than I usually do. With everything back in the livingroom the acoustics are actually pleasant.

It was a long, but fun day for me. After a smooth first night back at work, I went to a small going away party for a departing coworker. I know that in the past I have complained that my old girlfriend spent all of her time with people from work, but I see this as being a little different. These people don't talk about work as much as she and her friends did. Besides it had been a long time since I did the morning drinking thing and I felt like being social. In the end I only stayed for two hours, because the need for sleep became more important than being social.

Seven hours later I woke oblivious to the heat wave with its heat and humidity going on outside. Being overtired and the cool comfort of air conditioning took me away from such things.

A four hour buffer before I have to go work is not enough. It goes by too fast. I have enough time for the essentials like showering and eating, but the rest of my free time is too compressed. The new software that I had ordered had arrived, but I didn't do much more with it than open the box.
