fallen leaves

In reading material, I've left behind the changing world of post World War II America for the hills of Vietnam. I've exchanged one turning point in American history for another emotion filled time.

Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien will only be the second book that I have ever read about Vietnam. I'm not sure why I wanted to read it, but I know that on the back cover of Fatal Light, another book dealing with Vietnam that I read and enjoyed, Tim O'Brien was quoted. O'Brien also seems to be the best in Vietnam books, so hopefully I won't be disappointed. So far from what I have read, I think that I make a good decision.

Piles of leaves line the city streets, but most of the trees on my block are still full. I seem to have missed the full color explosion that comes with fall. To me it seems that one day the trees were a lush green and then the next day they were bare. The vibrant crimson and gold display never happened. Maybe I need to get out of the city to see the transition better.
