In New
York
After dinner at Bull and Bear, the Waldorf Astoria's steak house, we were having a few drinks and talking shit. Somehow, the topic of Kent and James' amount of gayness came up.
(Do you know Kent and James? I don't guess you do. Kent and James are a couple Sonya and I have known since 1995, when they lived in our apartment building. We've stayed in touch ever since, and we went to London with them in 2000, which my older readers will remember. They are both from Arkansas and they are undoubtedly My People.)
"You wouldn't know with Kent," I said.
"That's right," Kent agreed, "I can go up to a group of straight guys and be, like, 'what's up?' and they've got no clue about me."
"I can do that, too!" James insisted.
"I don't know," Sonya said, "you've kind of got a sashay when you walk."
"And you always hold out your pinkies," Kent added.
