| On the front page: Warehouse Grocery, West Memphis, Arkansas. My grandparents did their grocery shopping at Warehouse Grocery. When I would go with them my grandmother would always get me a bottle of grape juice and a banana to snack on while I rode in the shopping cart. I remember going there a couple of times while was in high school, but it closed at some point in the early nineties. The signs on the outside of the building are some of the first things I remember reading. I was surprised to find them still hanging there, and the one under the awning that covered the doors was in the excellent shape you see above. It wasn't like going back in time, but it was kind of like walking onto a set where some of my childhood took place. Photo taken May 2007. | ||
