I think we're going to stay. Hurricane Lili is churning towards the Louisiana coast, but now all the weather people seem sure it's going to hit somewhere west of Baton Rouge and not mess with New Orleans too badly. We've been on the phone with Memphis all day, reassuring family and friends that yes, we're watching the weather and no, we're not stupid and yes, we'll leave if it shifts much farther east. Not to worry, we'll be fine. Tra la la. We have peanut butter, potted meat, bottled water, flashlights and candles. I spent thirty bucks at Home Depot yesterday on plastic tarps and glow sticks. And Sonya has packed a huge suitcase full of stuff in case we have to run for it. Happy hurricane! |
