We totally have to move. The landlord hasn't said anything, and I get the impression that the apartments aren't selling too well, what with half of them sitting empty and/or unrenovated. But John has so many accessories that we stumble over crap walking from the couch to the kitchen. Those of you that have been to my house know that it's not a long walk, either. So do we buy or do we rent? I don't know. We're seriously considering the westbank for either one, though. You can get a lot of space cheap over there.

(For non-New Orleanians: the westbank lies south of New Orleans proper on the other side of the Mississippi River. Yes, it's south of the city, but it's on the west side of the river. You dig? It's not the hippest part of town; it's very suburban. But again: cheap. And the commute is easy.)

But Mid-City might work, too. It's fairly close to where we both work - Sonya and I work just a few blocks from each other now - and close to John's daycare, too. We'll see.

The thing is, we want to move at the end of February, after Mardi Gras but before the end of the month. That's for rent-paying purposes, if we rent, and if we buy I don't know what the hell we'll do. But we're staying in our apartment 'til after Mardi Gras. It will probably be a pretty low-key Mardi Gras, what with a tiny tiny baby and all, but still.

What else? Sonya got a big truck, I got a Volvo. It's used, but the miles are low and the price was too good to pass up. I like it. It's much more practical than the Eclipse, which was far too single-guy-works-at-Circuit-City, anyway. I intend to drive it forever and get the 100,000 mile badge for the grill.
