some human interaction The sun was visible for the first time in days this week. Unlike the last time that I had off from work, the weather was less than impressive. In fact for the past three days it got colder than it was all last week. I know that I said that I would stop whining, but it would have been nice to have had better weather for my time off. Maybe if that had been the case I might have done more than I did. I missed the garbage men this morning so most of what I meant to throw away from my recent rummaging is still lying around my house. It isn't food so I guess that it can wait another week. I miss reading Alan of Hiroshima Days. For me he had to be one of the most talented of writers in this silly little form that I myself take far too seriously at times. Entries would be devoted to the people that he met and knew from working in what I saw as a convenience store of sorts. He walked away from translating Japanese documents for what had to be a less than intellectually challenging job. He said that he did it for the human interaction. Where else can a person continually meet new and eccentric people on a daily basis. As for myself, I don't think that I could do that type of job. I need more of a barrier between people and myself and prefer to keep my contact limited. Maybe this makes me less human or caring, but I do have certain limits when it comes to people. Some days I can read people before they even open their mouth, but other times people completely mystify me. There may be moments when I don't seem very open here, but I doubt that I would ramble on as much as I do here if I saw you in person. I think that the flow of conversation would come to a grinding halt within a matter of minutes. More often than not I am more of a listener, but conversely when I get started talking, I am often hard to stop. Maybe this makes sense and maybe it doesn't.
