Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

Ahem, I seem to have done a rather successful job in eliminating my readership of the journal. I didn't intend for that to happen, but maybe the domain switch was done a little too hastily. Perhaps with time more people will stumble upon my simple pages of words. I need to believe in the Costner build it and they will come theory of doing things. On the other hand I could do some heavy amounts of name dropping here or start a fight with someone on the diary mailing list to accelerate the process. No. I think that I'll keep doing what I am doing and hope for the best.

Oh, I want to take this moment to thank Scott for the new name of the journal. He was the one that first referred to me by that name and I like it. My appreciation is long overdue.

Thinking of titles was never something that I was very good at doing. Back when I was in college part of me was content to leave all of my painting untitled. I could never seem to match the right words with the oil on the canvas. The only drawback to this plan was that I hated the word untitled almost as much as I disliked give something the wrong title. It was a no win situation for me.

Daysleeper meets my unwritten requirement of a one word title and it has a nice sound to it. I also feel that the word is ordinary and strange at the the same time, which is another plus for me. Of course I also owe some thanks to Michael Stipe who wrote the song that inspired Scott and maybe some more to Whitman and his poem about sleepers. However, I seem to remember that the sleepers that Whitman talks about were in fact what most people call railroad ties.

Despite the above rambling, I would have to say that I felt good today. In fact relaxed would be the adjective for the day.
