opening the pool

My parents had asked me to come out to their place and help them open their pool for the season. Over the years I've done this a few times with them and I know that it usually ends up being an all day event so I was happy that it was nice out. Working outside doesn't bother me, but more often than not the weather doesn't cooperate with the plan. Today that didn't happen and all that we had to complain about was the wind, but that died away later in the afternoon. Actually with all the rain that we had last week, it was the longest that I'd been outside in days and it felt great.

Having opened and closed the pool more than once, I'll probably think twice about getting a pool when I have my own house. The amount of money and maintenance that goes into a pool is amazing. Of course I have to buy my own before I start to think about having a pool.

While I was helping out, my brother and I talked some more about our trip. Ever so slowly we are checking off some of the final details before we leave in July.
