all day rain

All that I wanted to do today was sleep and the weather did its best to help me. The rain fell the whole time that I was sleeping and when I woke I felt the best that I had all week.

...

Being the marginal geek that I am, I decided to support the crazy little company known as Apple and bought one of their new optical mice for my system. Without a doubt it was a good investment. I even went one step further and offered to beta test their new operating system called Mac OS X. This new project will probably be taking up most of my weekend if the rain continues to fall.

...

For most of the week Ann hovered somewhere on the fringe of my social radar, so being able to see and talk with her tonight for the first time since Sunday was nice. Various people in the department said that she had been on edge for most of the week and I would try to defend her as best I could.

More often than not people would attribute her behavior to being pregnant and forget about it. I, however, was curious to see what her mood tonight would be around me. Somehow I like to think that we get along better than the rest of the people in the department.

...

She was quiet for almost the first ten minutes after I walked through the door. What made it even worse was that she didn't even turn around to look at me or acknowledge my presence. Her behavior was not what I was hoping for from her, but I knew that it still might happen. Then finally she said something and I felt better. The tension had ended with just a few words from her.

She started with the physical problems first and then moved on to the emotional. I massaged her neck as she talked. She said that it felt good and tilted her head back. I wanted to bend down and kiss her as I have in the past, but I didn't. There were too many people around.

...

I imagine that some people must wonder about us, but I don't care. What we've done is harmless enough and sometimes I just can't explain the silly things that we do.

Charming and or surprising her is the best. Sometime last week she was complaining about her bra straps falling down and I told her what I did to solve that problem. I said that I prefer to wear the racerback style. Naturally this took her offguard for a moment or two, but it also made her laugh.

To tease me, she brought that topic up again tonight and this triggered a group discussion on how men have trouble unfastening a bra with two hands while women can do it with one.

...

Right or wrong there are times when I just want to take her away from everything that is bothering her and when we went to the show together that happened. For those few short hours, it was just the two of us and I loved it. She was happy and giddy. She was playful and fun. Most of all she was with me.

Maybe I'm being selfish and or foolish, but I want to recapture that feeling from that night again and I want it to be with her.
