Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

Now I realize that I am not one of the more hip people on the planet, but I was taken completely by surprise when I turned the corner on campus this afternoon. In front of the building where my class is held was a live band performing music. I had no idea why they were there and so I just kept on walking toward the door.

The best way that I can describe them would be a cross between Jethro Tull and Pearl Jam. Seeing the flute player made me think of Tull, while the appearance of the band members and the garbled vocals reminded me of Pearl Jam. It really wasn't my kind of music.

As I was walking this attractive blonde girl passed in front of me. Now I wouldn't have given this too much thought except for the fact that she looked me up and down as she went by. Without missing a beat I did the same thing to her.

When I sat down I asked a classmate and found out why the band was there. It seems that it was a part of some freshman celebration that they do every year. This year however was the first time that they had live music.

The official start of autumn might still be a day away, but from what I can see around me the weather has already made the transition. With the absence of the sun and some falling leaves, summer is quickly becoming a memory.

I know that the athletes aren't supposed to be judged by their sex appeal, but I can't help it. For example, Jamie Dantzscher may not have won an Olympic medal, but I'd give her one just for being so damn cute. Now if only she were a little closer to my age I could be a little more relaxed about my attraction to her.

In contrast I also have a mild thing going for Amy Van Dyken who is very close to my age. Something about all of those freckles and her goofy attitude is very appealing.

With Jamie topping out out at five feet and one inch and Amy towering in at six feet, I have the feeling that the gymnast would be the better choice for my five foot seven inch frame.
