uncle kracker sings

Twenty four hours worked wonders on my mood. Being able to vent to Ann and Ben at work also helped. Yes, I said Ann. She was back and probably will be tonight unless she goes to the hospital. She kept saying that she wanted to work until the very last minute and she seems to be keeping that promise.

It was really good to see her and if anyone is thinking that I have a bad attitude about work, Ben was wearing a fuck you label on his tie earlier this week. I tend to be a little more subtle.

Ben went home first and Ann lingered for a while. She left an hour and a half later than she said she would. I didn't mind. Being able to talk with her was something that I missed this week. Now when I say talk, what I really should say is listen. She tends to talk more than I do, but it works.

There is so much going on in her life right now that I can't begin to write it all down.

Before she left she asked me if I was going to quit. She doesn't want me to go.

We will see what happens. I can't possibly look for a job right now. School is still in session and then there is Australia. Any big changes will have to wait until the latter half of May.

...

Once Ann was gone work rewarded me with a peaceful night. It was so quiet and I was amazed at how much that I got done in the night. Not only was I productive, but I also had some quiet time to myself. I could think again.

Later in the night Nicole came around to share stories with me. Her and Ann are so different from one another yet I couldn't imagine not talking with either of them.

...

Eleven in the morning and the clouds are moving faster than I have seen them move in weeks. The weather forecast spoke of extreme wind gusts and for once I think that they were right. A huge warm front sweeping through the state is the cause for said winds. Nature is putting on a grand display and I'm loving all of it.

My porch faces the west and I can see everything riding up over the horizon. Wave after wave of clouds are just pouring across the sky. Warm heavy air blowing away the last of the dead leaves leftover from last year. Spring has a violent side to it and this is it.

Now the real challenge is whether or not I can sleep through this sudden change in the weather.

...

Three in the afternoon and I can't sleep. It's too warm in my house and the wind is still going strong outside. In some ways it feels as though Wisconsin skipped a season. We went straight from winter into summer.
