Nicole wished me happy birthday as I walked out of work. She knew that she wouldn't see me again until Friday night and my birthday is on Thursday. It was a simple gesture, but nice at the same time.

Earlier in the night she told me that she wanted a pony for Christmas and I said that I would buy her one. Now as to whether I am going to get one of those horse heads on a stick for her or a stuffed animal version has yet to be decided. Personally the vision of her running around with the stick horse is enough to keep me laughing for weeks.

There was fog on the ride home this morning. There isn't anything unusual about this happening, but it made for a quiet ride with very little traffic.

I had only lingered at work for about an hour after my shift ended eating breakfast with Ann. I wanted my vacation to start as soon as possible and she told me to have fun. Before I left there had been talk of going to Chicago on Wednesday since both of us have off from work until Friday. At the moment I am having mixed feelings about this idea.

...

Four hours after falling asleep I woke up to the sun beating down on my blinds. Fragments of a dream where I was putting together my car with extra parts muddled my thoughts. As to why I had taken my car apart in the first place was never explained in the dream. All that I knew is that it wasn't going back together properly. Suddenly there were extra parts and it made me think of the car from Back to the Future except that there were more strange parts than just a flux capacitor.

The car itself was in a parking lot of an expensive restaurant where they wouldn't serve me alcohol. They said that I didn't look old enough and I didn't have my drivers license. They did however serve my brother his imported beer.

...

While I was trying to assemble my car in the dream, Ann had called me from work so I called her back to see what I could do for her. The problem had been solved by then and we talked for about an hour starting with the dream and going forward from there.

...

There was an email in my inbox that I hadn't expected to see there. It was from Her. (From this point forward I am going to refer to Her as Summer, since the capitalized pronoun is getting confusing and old.) She sounded the same and I wrote her back. What happens next is uncertain. As to why she decided to write me now is beyond me. I guess that she just wanted to say hello.
