belt of venus Ann had a nice time at the company Christmas party and I was happy for her. Unlike her last two public functions this one didn't end with her having too much alcohol. The amount of gossip that flows around her is high enough already and a third incident would have kept the rumor mill going well into next year. ... It felt good to be home again. A two day week at work was enough to spoil my mood and I'm glad that I didn't have suffer through a full week after being away for five days. I need to slide back into that grind gradually. ... The Simpsons continues to be one of the funniest programs on television. The writers blend social commentary and pop trivia like no one else can. In tonight's episode they managed to parody the film Stand By Me and work in some clever references to the internet at the same time. The phrase "logged on to the internet" has taken on new meaning to me via Carl from The Simpsons. Then there was the line "eighteen more pumps and that'll break the skin." I would try to explain the quotes but it would take too much time. The episode however explains everything. Shifting pop culture gears, I think that the X-Files might still survive without the presence of a certain red haired female agent. Annabeth Gish may not have the same chemistry with Robert Patrick that Gillian had with David, but I think that there is enough. No doubt Fox wants to keep the franchise alive somewhat akin to what Paramount does with Star Trek. We will see if the agents really are that interchangeable or not.
