oh christmas tree Yes, I finally have one. For years the running joke has been that I will get a Christmas tree for the holiday, but then I never do. Oh, I've owned a tree stand, lights, tinsel and a few ornaments for years, but until now there has never been a tree to complete the set. ... Hours later after some much needed sleep... Maybe it sounds silly to get so excited about having a Christmas tree, but something about it did make my day. Yes, the holidays are overly commercialized and everything does seem to revolve around money, but the tree made me happy. Without a doubt nostalgia played a large part in my being excited about the tree, but that doesn't matter either. Most holidays depend heavily on past memories or the thought of creating new ones. For the first time in days, I felt relaxed and I think that the tree was definitely part of it. Some people probably dread decorating for the holidays, but I still love it. Yes, stringing the lights is a bit of a struggle, but the end result is worth it to me.
