traditional conquers modern Maybe it was just me, but my niece seemed to appreciate the toy horses that she got today more than the talking Sulley and Boo from Monsters Inc that I got for her. Oh, well, maybe she'll play with them more some other time. I did the best that I could with what I was told and the time that I had to look. The rest of my family seemed to like the gifts that I got them so the day wasn't a total loss on the present front. At least no one seemed disappointed to me. Then again my sister Hope thought that I had bought her present weeks ago when in fact I hadn't. ... When my dad's side of the family came over to my parents place, there was a definite lull in the conversation. Unlike previous years it wasn't as though we hadn't been in contact for the past few months. With the death of my grandpa earlier this summer my aunts and uncles have been talking on a weekly basis to share the responsiblity of taking care of my grandma. Without my grandpa around the woman is lost and unable to take care of herself. I mean this more in a physical sense than an emotional one although I am sure that she thinks about him him more than anyone else. Eventually things seemed to get more relaxed and stories started to flow. The story that I wanted to hear the most was the one about my aunt going to Egypt, but by that time I had to leave for home to get some sleep before work.
