whatever you want

I couldn't wait to leave work this morning. The night hadn't been that hard, but I was ready for the weekend. Even Ann said it seemed as though I needed a long vacation. I think that she may be right, but it isn't going to happen just yet. A two day weekend is all that I can afford at the moment. My post holiday spending spree has left me with less spare money than I had thought. The prospect of heading to California to visit some people will have to wait for another time.

A couple of hours before I left work I took a moment to watch the sunrise. Simple, daily and in some ways the highlight of the day for me. Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. The weather forecast said that the recent heat wave would be ending tomorrow and as a result I took the sunrise as a sign of that impending change. Winter has been anything but harsh this January. Little did I know that there wouldn't be a sunset to match the sunrise that I saw.

Ann has a bet with some people at work that I think is interesting. The terms are that she won't fall in love for a month. If she does then she owes the other people lunch. Valentine's Day falls within that month. I have a feeling that she is going to lose and so must someone else or there wouldn't have been a bet in the first place.

As I was falling asleep I had the movie Run Lola Run playing in the background. I've seen the movie enough times that I knew what was happening without looking at the screen. My understanding of German isn't that good, but I do know the movie by heart and could recognize scenes by the few words that I do know.

So The X-Files is ending. I'm not surprised and I'll watch it to the end. I woke early enough today to see the Sunday episode. The sleep had done me some good. Most of the tension that I felt when I left work was gone. After the episode was over I changed the channel to catch part of a documentary on the Miss America pageant. I can't say which of the two programs appealed to me more.

I have a copy of Roland Orzabal singing the song Creep by Radiohead. It works. It really does.
