circling the baltic Before I went to Europe for the first time two years ago, I made a few entries where I talked about my impressions of Europe before I left to see if they would match what I saw after I returned. I think that I should do that again. ... As I did two years ago, I'll be making a circle through multiple countries and trying to get the most that I can out of my time there. Eight countries would be the exact count, including Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Not only will these be new countries for me with the exception of Germany, but I'll also be making a clockwise circle this time instead of a counter clockwise one like I did the last time. I'm not sure if that is important or not, but I thought that I would mention it. Another surface difference would be that I'll be closer to water for a good part of the trip while the last time I was there I was solidly in the interior of Europe for most of the trip. ... I broke down and watched some horrible television tonight. I wish that I hadn't.
