Three in the afternoon and I can hear winter outside my office window. A steady wind has been blowing since last night and doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. I can almost visualize some personification of winter huffing and puffing at my house. Sometimes there is even a low hum or howl that can heard.

Despite the wind or actually since there is so much wind the sun is clearly visible giving the illusion of warmth when there is none to be had. No, that last statement isn't quite true. Sitting here behind the window, the sun is very warm and if I were cold blooded I would be in heaven.

Snow had started to fall while I was at work last night and was blowing across the roads as I drove home this morning. None of this surprised me though, because March still means winter here in Wisconsin. Suddenly I am grateful for not having had to go to class today. That walk by the lake would have been a little brisk today.

There was a mild surprise at work this morning before I left. I managed to get my boss to thank me for doing my job, which left me in shock when I walked out the door. Ever since Ann left I've been on his shit list and didn't really care either. What made his sudden change in attitude towards me even more strange was the fact that he had just finished chewing out a coworker of mine. Within minutes I had ceased to be the bad boy of the department.
