storm the ziggurat Nicole was sent back to her usual room for the night so my time with her was limited. In fact I only saw her at the beginning of the night and that was it. Somehow that change wasn't that unexpected. The pattern seems to be that I get to spend a large amount of time with her one night, then the following night I might get to see her for all of ten minutes. When I did see her at the very beginning of the night, I jokingly asked her if she was trying to avoid me and she said no. She had been put in charge of something a little more difficult that no one else could handle and she definitely sounded tired when I spoke briefly with her later in the morning. ... My ever clueless boss started my night off with what I saw as being a huge insult. About an hour before he left in the afternoon, he had sent me an email asking me why I had done something the night before. He was completely confused as to my methods and verbally attacked me for doing what I had done. The undertones of the email were enough to make me want to beat him if he were there and since he wasn't I cursed him repeatedly. In fact I was so stunned and upset that I was ready to walk out the door and never come back. His words were the equivalent of having fecal matter thrown in my face and I was ready to respond in kind. The man obviously has no tact and I often wonder if he reads what he sends. Clearly his understanding of how to talk with people is flawed and I had other people read the email to make sure that I wasn't over reacting. All of them said that I was right and what he had sent was anything but professional. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that his entire email had been written in capital letters which I view as shouting or as something that a child might do. His eight line email got a point by point response from me totaling eight hundred and seventy-four words and consisted of nine paragraphs. The tone was professional and clearly demonstrated how he negated departmental policy that he established and that I had followed it completely. What I said had to be said and I do not regret any of it and I expect an apology from him next week. One of the phrases that he used was that my actions were "unproductive" and I had to laugh, because his asinine email did nothing to motivate me. In fact it had the opposite effect. For most of the night I wondered why I should do anything for the company at all. Even the new person understood how I felt. ... I've gotten back in anime and spent part of the afternoon watching Metropolis and no I am not referring to the Fritz Lang film of the same name although the influence was certainly there. A female robot sitting on a throne is an iconic image that one does not forget.
