It may or may not have been obvious from what I wrote yesterday, but it wasn't the best of days for me. After a night of almost non stop doses of pop culture, I had left my parents place at five in the morning. Part of me felt good to be feeling so carefree while others were returning to work after a weekend filled with rain. However, once I was home that feeling left me and generally speaking things seemed to go downhill for me. All of my concentration was gone for the day and I got very little accomplished. Thankfully that didn't happen today.

After falling asleep before the end of the Masterpiece Theatre presentation of The Road From Coorain, I woke feeling alive again. I did some last minute reviewing for my final and sped off to the east side of Milwaukee, which more than likely will probably be the last time in weeks if not months for me.

The final was true to form and I am hoping that I got an "A" on it, but the possibility of a '"B" wouldn't surprise me either. Before I left I had a brief discussion with my professor about my new plans and he said that I seemed to be heading in the right direction.

Naturally it felt odd to be walking away from the campus, but at the same time, my life is going to switch into high gear next week Friday as my second journey to Europe begins. That alone eliminates much opportunity for down time in my life. Now if I can only survive work for the intervening days.

In the does this ever happen to other people except me category, I had an odd experience at a local department store. I was purchasing a pair of jeans when the following verbal exchange took place.

Over buoyant clerk: Will that be department store charge or cash?

Me: That'll be cash.

Over buoyant clerk: What? You still have cash after Mother's Day?

Me: Yes. (wondering where this was going and why she should possibly care)

Over buoyant clerk: Oh, do you need a penny? I have one here.

Thankfully I was able to walk out of the store and as far away from her as possible. I suppose that she was just doing her job, but it still struck me as being odd if not mildly disturbing. Her excited manner and sing song voice definitely threw me off balance.

Once I was home I hit the trail with my bike this time and quickly covered the same distance that I had walking on Saturday. Of course this meant that I had to go a little further and I did only to discover that the trail ended at the edge of the city. Suddenly I was left with highway and no real clue as to where I should go next.
