yellow brown lawn Today was definitely an off day for me. I didn't get outside at all and sadly I did even less inside. So instead of whining any further than I already have today, I'll talk some more about Europe and the way that it keeps popping in and out of my life. Someone mailed my parents a brochure about Scandinavian Russian cruises and they gave it to me since I had just been there. Once I started flipping through the pages I was amazed at all of the places that I recognized. On just about every page there was something that I knew. Various photos from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tallinn were like old friends to me. St. Petersburg, however, was the exception since that didn't happen for me on my trip. There just wasn't enough time to get the needed visa and that had to wait for another time. I was so close though. In fact I think that St. Petersburg was somewhere in the range of three hours from either Helsinki or Tallinn. As impressive as the cruise looked, the lowest fare was far more than what my trip cost me and takes less time than my did. I have a feeling that my parents understand my love of travel. Not only did they give me the brochure, but my mom also gave me a new book to read called The Royal Road to Romance. I had never heard of the book before, but from what I read on the back cover it sounds as though Richard Halliburton might soon become my new travel hero. ... With tomorrow being a holiday, tonight felt like Saturday for me at work. The atmosphere was completely relaxed and there would be a skeleton crew for the holiday itself. Suddenly work became the best part of the day for me and that doesn't happen very often.
