new found freedom

There wasn't any anger today nor was there any depression. Mostly I was indifferent to the world around me. For example, the weather was nice enough, but I couldn't think of a reason to spend much time outside. The only time that I did venture out was to walk the movie rental back to the store and that lasted about ten minutes at the most.

Sadly inside I wasn't much better. To be honest, I was less than productive, but that might have had something to do with the fact that I didn't crawl out of bed until almost ten thirty this morning.

Not having to drive to the east side of Milwaukee still feels odd to me. I know that it was only part of my routine for a month, but I did get used to it. Now all of my time is mine and I seem to care less about how I use it. All sense of urgency is gone, but I am repeating myself as I am prone to do.

Pop culture keeps me alive or at the very least distracts me from the more important problems in life. There was some MST3K in the afternoon followed by insane Buffy and helpful Clark at night. Does anyone name their children Buffy or Clark anymore? Is there a Willow in your son's class? How about Topanga?

Ian Wright was making his way through Baja California and I'm not quite sure what to say about what I saw. I mean where he was had to be the least exotic episode that I have seen yet of Globe Trekker. To me it was nothing more than desert and not that historic of one either. Marco Polo was never there. I doubt that any wars were ever fought there and I can't remember the last time that I saw a nature documentary filmed there.

Maybe I missed something, but I have no idea why someone would go there. Plus the idea of going to Tijuana is repulsive to me.

Now it may not be fair to compare the two, but the five minute segment with Danielle Baker in Shanghai was so much more appealing to me. Actually I wouldn't mind spending some time with Danielle be it in China or maybe even Mexico. Obviously she isn't Justine, but she has a charm of her own.

On a slightly more elevated cultural note, my season tickets for the Milwaukee Rep came in the mail today. Since I had been looking back through the journal, I had been expecting them to come some time soon. Actually I only got one set today. I have yet to receive the tickets for the Friday night performance that I've been attending for the past three or four years now. The tickets that I got today are for Sunday night.
