waning moon commute Low on the horizon in the east, the moon shone in my peripheral vision as I drove north to work. Scattered on the floor on the passenger side of my car were various travel books on Barcelona and Spain. Mixed in with them were some Spanish language books that I have yet to look through, but should sometime soon. Shakira gave way to Travis on the mix cd in the player. Those were the final moments of my Wednesday before Thursday began. ... I'm not quite sure why I held off on going to Spain until now. Maybe I kept thinking of it as a more sophisticated version of Mexico and for me that wasn’t enough of a reason to go. Now I mainly want to see the Mediterranean again and Italy isn’t what I have in mind. I suppose that Greece could fit the bill, but I have my heart set on Barcelona now. Most of my knowledge of Europe comes from my art history classes. Oh, I also had regular history classes, but what I remember the most is the art and where it was made. Naturally this means that Picasso and Goya are what comes to my mind when someone mentions Spain. ... My excess free time will be ending soon and I think that I am going to miss it. Both today and yesterday were spent doing idle reading and tinkering with my computer. As of tonight I'm back to using Mac OS X. In fact I'm back to using the latest version available and all seems well with my system.
