new zealand beckons

Late this morning, I managed to pull my head out of my ass and get some things done that I needed to do. Foremost was finalizing the details of my trip to New Zealand. The airline portion had been done last week and now the lodging and transportation are also in place. In less than two months I'll be on the other side of the world again and I don't think that I could be happier about it.

Now if I don't run into any Middle Earth zealots while I am there, it should be a great trip. Yes. I had wanted to go there at least a year before the average American movie watcher figured out that Middle Earth is in fact New Zealand. Personally I still think that the scenery is the best part of both movies.

Besides the variety of natural landscapes, New Zealand is also known for its sense of adventure or at least that is what they write in every other travel brochure that I read. For some people this mean bungy jumping, which I will not be doing when I am there. Nor will I be zorbing down any hills. All that I want is to do some hiking on the glaciers and maybe do some kayaking.

Without the structure of school, I did let this weekend become a free fall of sorts and I don't want that to happen next week. There are things that I can do to keep myself busy besides home work. I guess the real problem is doing something that won't cost money until I get back from New Zealand. I'll have the trip paid for before I leave, but at the same time I want enough spending money while I am there.

With my free time I read Galaxy Express 999 this afternoon and that was enough to rekindle my interest in anime and manga. Soon I was online looking for the next installment of Galaxy Express, because after two hundred and thirty six pages, the story wasn't over and I wanted to know the end.
