more april snow

The white stuff is falling again and made the commute home a little longer than usual. Yes, winter isn't ready to leave Wisconsin just yet.

...

The cast of Christina Ricci, Cate Blanchett, Johnny Depp and John Turturro sounded promising, but The Man Who Cried left me more than a little disappointed if not slightly confused when the credits started. At first I didn't know why I had missed the movie when it was first released, but now I know the reason why. It was bad.

The plot was less than exciting and I could have cared less if Christina, or Susie as she was called in the movie, ever found her father in America. She hardly spoke in the film and her face was without any real clear expression. Most of the time I didn't have a clue as to what she was feeling let alone thinking.

Then there was the editing of the movie itself that I would have to call abrupt if anything. Suddenly and without apparent reason scenes would change from one location to the next and it didn't flow at all. Actually I kept wondering what had been left on the editing room floor, because there seemed to be more than a few key points missing from the movie.
