buying some books

After breakfast this morning, I made my way back to the bookstore to get a present for my niece and while I was there, I learned something new. It seems that Barnes and Noble has a reading session for small children at that time of the day. Sigh. That was something unexpected and I waited until story time was over before I went to look for the books that my niece requested. Trying to work my away around twenty just barely subdued small children is no easy task.

While I was there in the children's section, one precious little toddler walked up to me and I noticed something strange about her appearance. There was clearly white glue coming out of her mouth. It seems as though hunger was more important to her than being artistic. When most of the other children had used the glue to make masks of some kind, she decided to sample some of that yummy white goodness. Seeing her made me think of Ralph Wiggums from the Simpsons.

Being in a book store this morning felt odd to me, because I usually buy most of my books online. So naturally being surrounded by that many books for longer than I had planned, I couldn't walk out of the store without buying something for myself as well as my niece.
