no more class When I walked out of class this afternoon, I felt so much better than I had yesterday. There was no stress just a sense of relief with a small amount of sadness mixed in as well. To put it another way, the past four weeks have been a strain on me, but I don't regret taking the class, because I met some very bright people and I have a better idea of what to expect if I do indeed make a career change sometime next year. Changing careers is the final goal of my going to school again, but as to when that will happen is not a certainty. The presentations that were given today were so much better than mine, but that was to be expected since most of these people who gave them have real world experience or were graduate students. Besides the mixed emotions after class there was something else that I should mention and that would be the change in weather. The sign said that it was eighty six degrees when I walked into the building and when I exited the sign said that it was only sixty one degrees. Now I have no idea if those two temperatures were correct, but there was a very noticeable difference in the air. ... Not only did I take a different route home this afternoon, but I also took my time. There was no hurry to get home and I was anxious to avoid any form of rush hour traffic. Being a third shift person I have no idea how other people can tolerate that moronic element of modern society. To me it is a clear example of how easily people can become mindless if not downright pathetic. I am so happy that that is not something that is a part of my daily life, because it would drive me insane. ... Other people must like Geoff Johns' writing as much as I do, because the first issue of Teen Titans that came out yesterday was already sold out at my usual comic book store. DC had said online that the issue had sold out across the country, but I didn't expect to see that happen in my area. Even though this happened I did still manage to get a copy at the other store that I used to frequent. Plus since at one time I was a regular there, I was given a choice of covers. Going back to the second store felt like going back to an old bar that I frequented years ago. When I walked though the door, I was recognized by the guy behind the counter and a few of the faces milling around also seemed familiar to me. ... I made it home in time to see the latest episode of The Amazing Race and I have yet to be disappointed. The teams made their way from India to Malaysia and I still can't get over how much they yell at the ticketing people at airports. |
