quiet afternoon rain

Somewhere at around ten thirty last night, the printer spat out the last page of my paper. I was finished and I can not begin to describe how good that felt. All that is left to do this semester is hand in said paper tomorrow and sit through one more lecture. Doing both shouldn't be a problem.

Looking back at what I wrote a year ago and the year before that one, it seems that the end of the semester is more than a happy occasion for me. When the day finally arrives I am so ready for it. Somehow the excitement that I feel at the beginning always fades by the end and taking a break is all that I want to do.

There is a major difference between the class that I had last year and the one that I am finishing now. This year there was no crush to sigh over. There was no one that caught my eye and made me turn my head without trying. Then again I'm seeing someone so having a woman in class who met that description wouldn't be appropriate anymore.

It didn't bother me and I was perfectly content to stay inside. A recent trip to the grocery store had left me with plenty of food and there were Christmas presents to wrap.

A while ago I read a comment that said Joe Casey has problems writing female characters in his work and the recent issues of Wildcats seem to prove that statement. Months ago Void was shoved off the stage and now the android body of Maxine Manchester is being used by Grifter. Thankfully C. C. Rendozzo still makes an appearance every other issue and when she does it is memorable.
