back to spring Work was kind to me and welcomed me back with a relatively quiet night. Of course that changed in the morning as my shift was coming to an end, but I guess that it could have been worse. I should be ready for a full week when Friday rolls around. ... I was thinking some more about the play Titus Andronicus and I'm not sure why so few people today like it. It may not be Shakespeare's finest work, but I can see elements of some of his later plays in it. For example, I see the madness of Titus as a prototype for King Lear. Tamora is similar to Lady Macbeth and Aron the Moor becomes a tragic hero instead of a villain in Othello. Okay, maybe that last one is a stretch, but the Titus and Lear comparison is sound to me. ... The tree in my front yard has finally started to sprout leaves and I had forgotten how much that changes my view. Not everything is blocked, but it does make a difference. |
