tonal language problems

Hessler continues to fascinate me with his stories of China. In his book River Town, he mixes personal experience with history lesson and I am trying to absorb as much of it as I can. Some events are simple such as his winning a local race around the city and how the people there reacted to a win by a foreigner. Then the next story uses parts of Chinese history to illustrate how each dynasty tried to erase the preceding one and how that continues to happen today.

My trying to summarize and or recreate what he says in his book wouldn't be the same as reading it so all that I can do is recommend it to people.

On a completely different note, my musical choice for the moment is the band Azure Ray. For days now I have been lost in those two female voices that manage to take me somewhere else.
