unified string theory

I may not listen to the radio anymore, but that doesn't mean that I don't like hearing new music. Actually that was why I stopped listening to the radio in the first place. Without exaggerating, the majority of the stations here tend to play the same thing over and over again. I can't remember the last time that I discovered a new band on the radio. So since I don't consider radio a viable option anymore, I seek out new music from online sites or my brother. Between those two sources and SOMA FM, I tend to add something new each month with the bands Eisley, Trash Can Sinatras and The Killers being the most recent additions to my listening rotation.

Of those three bands, I suspect that the Trash Can Sinatras are the one that will stay with me the longest. Their sound is the most in sync with my personality.

A day's worth of unseasonably warm weather melted all of the snow that we had here and I have to say that I am going to miss it. The warmer temperatures are nice, but for the most part spring is an ugly time of year. Everything is still dead and it seems to take forever for green take over the landscape. Maybe I am just trying to rush things.

The latest season of The Amazing Race isn't as enjoyable as the past two that I've seen and I'm confident that I know the reason why. With the addition of Rob and Amber from Survivor, everything seems more aggressive and far less open to exploration. For example, I don't remember teams bribing locals before they appeared on the scene. This is completely new to me and I don't like it. For me, the change is drastic enough that if tonight's episode was the first time that I ever saw the show, I doubt that I would ever watch it again. I was that unimpressed by what I saw.

Much more rewarding television came in the form of Nova trying to explain string theory to the average person without boring them. I don't think that I could fully explain what I learned to another person, but I found all of it to be very interesting. For an hour or more, physics made sense to me and made me want to learn more about the topic.
