give me relief

I know that many people living in Wisconsin love the heat. All through winter they can not wait for summer to arrive. They dream about it. They pray for it to come early. Then when the thermometer first tops eighty degrees in July or maybe even June they are ecstatic. Clothing is eagerly shed even by those who should be more modest for the sake and visual comfort of others. Suddenly people act as though they have been set free and they owe it all to the glorious heat of summer. I am not one of those people.

Breaking out into a sweat while I am sitting is not a happy time. Nor do I like having to run the air conditioner all of the time just so that I can sleep. For me, the heat gets old very quickly and I wish that autumn would get here. I long for days of sweaters and cool breezes. A crisp blue sky is better than one cloaked in haze.

Now maybe if I were near a lake and or a pool, the summer heat would be more tolerable, but ever since my parents moved last year any free access to a body of water has been eliminated. As far as I am concerned, the closest source of water relief is four and a half hours away by car and I can't do that at a moment's notice.
