finally superman returns I did something tonight that in the past I had said that I wouldn't do. Sometime during the day I decided to bring my old television out of my closet so that I could watch one program while I was taping another one on my new television. Before I changed my mind, the idea of my having more than one television in my place seemed like overkill to me, but tonight I didn't want to miss the latest episode of Smallville or Survivor Guatemala. Usually on Thursday nights I watch Survivor only, because Smallville has disappointed me so many times. The reason for the exception this time was that during the episode of Smallville, they were going to air a sneak preview of the Superman Returns film that will open next summer. Now having seen the preview, I can say that it was worth dragging out that other television for the night. Seriously, I was so excited by what I saw and heard that it made the hairs on my arm stand up. The only sound was a voice over by Marlon Brando. I had heard that they were going to use his voice for Jor-El from the first film and it still works for me. As Brando spoke, there were various scenes of Superman flying, him landing to meet Lois and some shots of a young Clark hovering over a cornfield. All of it looked great to me. Now if they keep this film in the same mode as Batman Begins, I will be very happy. |
