an italian sanatorium

In an effort to see what a different Italian director besides Fellini had to offer in the world of film, I watched Vittorio De Sica's A Brief Vacation. To be fair this may not have been his best effort, but I was not impressed by what I saw. None of the characters interested me, nor did I find the plot that interesting. The only part of the film that was worth my time was seeing a different part of Italy. I remember crossing The Alps from Austria when I went to Venice back in 2000, but I was never in the mountains during winter.
