her royal majesty Learning about English history and its royalty has been an interest of mine for years so I was eager to see what Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons were going to bring to the latest film about Elizabeth I on HBO. Now having seen it, I have to say that the two of them did a nice job, but I have no idea as to whether or not their portrayal was historically accurate. Before I watched the two part production I knew that Elizabeth had some male suitors despite never marrying, but wasn't sure how close these men got to her and what the public knew of these liaisons. |
