Slow Motion

Today started slow. There wasn't any real reason for me to get out of bed early. The first time that I woke up, I looked at the clock saw what time it was and went back to sleep. I had woken up too late to go to work if I had to be there, but it was still too early to get up on my day off.

I repeated this pattern two more times, which triggered some short dreams that I can only vaguely remember. One was mildly erotic in nature. I remember this woman sleeping next to me. I could feel her cheek on mine. I was amazed by how real the sensation felt. Her cheek must have been my hand, because I felt the warmth and everything.

I can't remember what she looked like at all, because the room was dark in the dream. Plus most of my focus was on her mouth for some reason. The only thing that I know for certain is that she was a product of my imagination. I know that she doesn't exist in reality.

Nothing really happened in the dream as far as I can remember. All that I can remember is her lying next to me and touching my face. It was nice.

I have always been very responsive to touch. Hugging for instance is not something that I do very often, not even in my immediate family. I can only think of two relatives that hug on a regular basis. This would be one of my aunts on my dad's side of the family and my grandma on my mom's side of the family.

When I finally opened the curtains this morning, I saw that it was snowing. I didn't remember snow being in the forecast. Now that I think about it, I didn't watch the weather last night so maybe they did mention it.

It was a gentle snow complete with fluffy flakes of the snowball variety. Correction. It looked white and fluffy, but was in fact wet and sloppy when I went to take my garbage out.

At the end of my shopping today, I succumbed to an old addiction. I bought thirty dollars worth of comic books. This is only the second time this year that I've bought comic books. Last year I quit and thought that was the end of it. A fifteen year hobby was abandoned.

I think that I'm hooked again.

I have yet to read any of them though, because I went out to eat with Ginkgo tonight. Now that I'm home its just me and a pile of comic books.
