Merry Christmas

I woke up too late this morning to see my niece open her presents. By the time that I got to my parents house, they were already opened.

I feel like a little kid again telling everyone what I got for Christmas. Presents included another episode of Doctor Who, from the the Tom Baker era, on videotape and some money.

The joke gift this year was a tape measure. Right now I have sheets for curtains in my house. Before I got the tape measure the only thing that I had to measure my windows for curtains with was an eighteen inch ruler. When I finally get some curtains is another matter though.

One of my cousins sons, who is either three or four, latched onto me for some reason. I was lying on the couch after we had eaten when he came up to me. He wanted to show me the new socks that he had got for Christmas. There were turtles on the bottom of the feet.

Soon he was explaining the plot of Space Jam to me. You see the aliens got really big when they got the ball. I asked if he was scared of the aliens. He said no, because they are only puppets.

Then I took him into the basement to see if my parents still had any old toys of mine or my brothers lying around. My cousin's son found the racetrack set that my parents had bought for Christopher when I was seeing Tracy. My parents thought that Christopher needed something to play with when I brought him over to my parents house. So there I was on the basement floor assembling this racetrack for him. I was an instant hit with him for the rest of the night.

Soon everyone made their way into the basement to see what all of the excitement was about that they could hear upstairs. My niece who is only eighteen months also really got into the racetrack. Simple pleasures for the little people.

All in all it was a good Christmas. There was some tension between one of my sisters and my brother's girlfriend, but no blood was shed just some angry words.
