Friday My entry mentioning Brenda's concerns about the Internet generated a response from Katie and I agree with some of what she said. I imagine it is hard for Brenda to understand my fascination with the Internet and I will try to be more patient. I would like to clarify one other point about the Internet and myself and that would be how much time I devote to it and what I do when I am online. The amount of time that I am on the Internet is about an hour a day. When I am online, I begin by sifting through the daily ramblings of the diary-l mailing list and whatever personal email that I might get amongst the clutter. This is followed by reading the few journals that I follow on a regular basis. Once I am done reading I upload my entry and log off. I devote very little time to surfing unless I am looking for something and I don't even bother with chat rooms. What I am trying to say is that my contact with people through the Internet is limited. Yes, I do respond to people that write me about my journal, but this is not a daily occurrence. Then there are the few journal writers that I correspond with every so often, but most of my time is based in the real world. I wish that I felt more like writing today, but I don't.
