Personification I had a solid ten hours of sleep behind me when I woke this morning and this led to a rather productive morning. I got my grocery shopping done and then I took in a matinee. I went to see Meet Joe Black despite the negative review that I read in the newspaper. Besides my opinion of movies more often than not differs from what the general public sees as being good. There were less than two dozen people in the theater with me so maybe everyone else believed the review. Then again maybe the low attendance was just because it was a matinee. Actually when I walked in there were only two people. It was a pair of girls decked out in their platform shoes sitting in the exact center of the theater. They wished me luck in finding a seat. Later on I could hear them giggling when Brad Pitt had his shirt off, so I guess I know why they were there. Not being a woman Brad Pitt doesn't get my hormones all mixed up, but I don't mind him as an actor. He did a good job in Twelve Monkeys and he was fine here as well. As for my opinon of the film, all that I can say is that it could have been better. It could have been more abstrast than comical. I didn't feel like walking out on the movie, but the review was right about one thing. It really didn't have to be three hours long. I keep waiting for the really good stuff to come out in the theaters, but I guess that I'll have to wait until after Thanksgiving.
