Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

a slow silence

Sadly Christopher Marlowe also falls into that category of famous authors of whom I know, but have have read very little. I remember reading parts of Faustus and some of The Jew of Malta years ago, but I have yet to read either of them in their entirety. Then there was the book about the strange circumstances of his death that I wanted to read, but never bought. The general story of him being stabbed in the eye during a bar brawl is quite common, but the murder idea hinted in the film Shakespeare in Love is another possibility. From what I understand Marlowe had quite a few enemies.

Nature has beaten me in my effort to insulate my house. The winds have once again blown open the plastic that I had stretched across the windows to prevent heat loss. When I sit in my living room, I can watch the curtains gently billow with the wind. At least I don't feel cold and the heat doesn't seem to come on any more than usual. I guess that I should also be happy that it has been a mild winter. For the past few weeks we have been above freezing most of the time and the rain has been melting the last of the snow. Now watch it get cold again.

Having what I was doing with my life a year ago just a mouse click away is strange. I can't remember ever sitting down and reading through my paper journals on a whim. I would have to make more of an effort. Now with this technology I have been able to transform my life into an elaborate flipbook and the line between the present and the past is blurred. Maybe I should make a little stick figure gif and put it in the upper right hand corner of each entry. Then when I move forward through the entries I'll have a little animated film to watch.
