austin city limits

Once again I devoured some more burgers for breakfast and I think that I have had my fill for the next three months. I can only tolerate that stuff for so long until I start to feel sick.

While I slowly poisoned myself I watched an episode of Austin City Limits that I had taped last night. Fastball and a woman that I had never heard of before were scheduled to perform.

I only slept for five hours and spent the rest of the night trying to get in a little more before I left for work.

Despite being tired, I finally decided to do my taxes tonight. The whole process holds very little interest for me and I was glad to be done with it.

At around nine thirty, my neighbors downstairs started pounding something. I waited for them to stop and when they didn't, I turned on the stereo to drown them out.

For most of the week, I have been alternating eating the leftover food that I had been given Sunday and fast food. Toast and a batch of oven fries augmented those supplies. Something tells me that I might have to break down and go grocery shopping Sunday night. Another household task that might need my attention sometime in the near future would be the laundry.

Friday nights at work are slow, but I don't mind. When I arrived two coworkers stood and threw crumpled paper balls toward a basket on the other side of the room. Neither of them was very good as they tried over and over with little success. Yes, we certainly know how to earn our money.

The first hour is the slowest and I started to download some entries from the archives of a journal to read later in the night. Sometimes I download excerpts from books and read them with the journal entries. If I could read my New Yorker everything would be much simpler. Of course I am not being paid to read even though I do from time to time.

I take a break from my reading and scan the monitors in front of me. The rules are simple. Red is bad. Green is good. So far there has only been one alarm and I need to contact the customer in the morning to solve the problem. A piece of equipment is down and I need someone at the site to take a look at it. So until I speak with someone in the morning, it will stay down.

My internal body temperature rises and falls throughout the night depending on how alert I am at the moment.
