rolled down windows

Until this morning the process of dry cleaning was a mystery to me. Now through the ever insightful instruction of Martha Stewart, I now know what they do at a dry cleaner. Oh, I knew that they used some kind of solvents instead of water, but the rest of the process was a little unclear to me.

The fact that I never take anything to be dry cleaned might also explain my ignorance. Even though I own two dozen silk ties and various button down shirts, very seldom do I dress professionally. Dressing in jeans for work is a definite benefit to me. I don't see how what I am wearing would have any effect on my job performance when all that I do is stare at computer monitors all night.

Today was a great day. Nothing says summer better than being able to drive around with the windows in the car down. I suppose that in warmer parts of the world this really isn't that major of an event, but in Wisconsin people wait months for it to happen. Another definite sign of summer is that some people at work are coming in with their first sunburn of the season.

I managed to break free of my usual Friday night routine and got out of the house for a few hours and it felt good. When I was out driving around, it looked as though most people had already left town for the holiday weekend. I imagine that for the next few days the city will be a ghost town, but I don't mind.
