Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

collecting dust

Despite the unexpected warm weather, I spent most of the day inside the house. With the wind outside blowing everything in sight, I decided to clean up the debris that had been covering my diningroom floor for the past few weeks. Instead of dry leaves everywhere, I had piles of papers and magazines that I simply walked around rather than sift through and throw away. Today I had had enough and got rid of all of it. I even moved the bookcase to the opposite wall of the room to emphasize the newly cleared space. Of course the real challenge is keeping it that way.

Actually what I want to do now is buy two more bookcases so that I'll some place to put the piles of books sitting on my bedroom floor. I definitely have a bad habit here. Quite simply the floor really is an easy target for me when it comes to storing things. There is very little effort involved and most of the time I can find what I am looking amongst the piles. Of course none of this is very attractive and is also a great way to collect dust.

Beyond the cleaning I did very little else today. Most of the afternoon was spent lying half awake on the couch reading a few pages now and then from a book with my copy of Blade Runner acting as background noise.
