changes at work

Throughout the past year the company that I work for has been doing some major renovation of the building that houses it. However, none of that construction affected my department until just a few weeks ago. Now each night that I go to work something new has happened. Some carpeting might be tore up or some wallpaper has been replaced. For the most part I was not directly involved in any of the changes, but all of that changed Saturday night as I found myself crawling under the floor pulling cables.

It was a definite change of pace from my usual peaceful Saturday. Instead of being all alone, there was a small crowd of a dozen people moving equipment from one side of the room to the other. Various managers were there making sure that nothing went wrong or if something did happen that it was fixed as quickly as possible. Unplugging vast amounts of electronic equipment in my line of work makes people nervous.
