lisa marie presley It felt good to leave work this morning. With the recent violent weather across the nation, my four days there had been very busy. There was little down time and I more than earned my pay. Plus I needed to get away from the increasing tension that I was feeling from the day crew. They all sound miserable and I don't need that to infect my life. The more that I hear them talk, I know why I never asked to be moved to days. There is little incentive for me to make that kind of change. It's more stress for the same kind of work that I do at night and I make more money working the hours that I do. Even more important to me is that I am free to do what I want on my shift without the managerial staff giving orders. ... Over the years I have had a love hate relationship with Elvis and his legacy. His music is tolerable at times, but the fanfare that surrounds him turns my stomach. For example, I have been to Graceland and found it to be one of the saddest places that I have ever seen. Now I know that he died years ago, but it was so tacky and lacked any kind of dignity. Being the only child of such a man must be bizarre if that word could fully describe the situation and that makes me wonder how Lisa Marie can manage to function. Maybe she can't and that is why she is a continual source of tabloid press. Now it seems she has put out an album and I must confess that I am curious to see what she can do. Obviously the pressure is enormous being the daughter of the king, but at the same time he never wrote his songs. It was all about the look and the energy. I also confess that the Elvis face in feminine form is more than a little erotic to me. ... Since I have decided that my current place of residence is where I am going to be for the next two years, I went back to find ways of decorating it. For me this meant purchasing some more Asian art. Instead of more Chinese or Japanese pieces I went with two Balinese masks and a statuette of Krishna from India. Personally I think that it should all work together quite nicely. Then once the living room is complete I need to finish my French Impressionists theme that I have going in the main bedroom. |
