read three books

After a somewhat stressful morning at work, I decided to let the rest of the day be spent doing next to nothing. From my perspective I deserved a day where I could just sit around the house and be completely unproductive. It felt great.

...

Mike Carey continues to impress with his ongoing epic in Lucifer and I often wonder if Neil Gaiman knew what would become of Morningstar under the hands of someone else. Personally I don't think that anyone better could have been chosen.

When each issue ends I have no idea what is going to happen next and I see that as a good thing. None of the story arcs seem forced and each of them keeps building on the previous one. Layering would be an understatement. What makes this even better is that I want to read what he has to say.

Leaving behind the world of fallen angels and free will, Abnett and Lanning are still keeping The Legion very much alive. The tone of the book is more dark than the Peyer era and I hope that it stays that way. Plus I need something on the other end of the genre spectrum to offset what Carey has to offer and a world set a thousand years into the future meets that requirement.

My third and final recommendation would be The Flash. Geoff Johns is ready to take Wally West in a new direction and I'll be there to see where he goes. Seeing a new version of Professor Zoom was fun, but I am ready for a soft reboot.
