tang dynasty horse

When I was doing an online search for a bronze Buddha statue, I found something else that I suddenly wanted to own. Hidden amongst the auctions of someone selling a Buddha statue was something called a Tang Dynasty horse and once I saw it on the screen, I knew that I had to have one for myself. The look instantly made me think of the clay warriors that were buried with Chinese emperors and I later found out the horses were also made as funerary objects.

The size of the statues, the coloring of the clay and the delicate design of the piece all appealed to me. To me one or more would be a perfect addition to the Asian decor that I already have in my living room. The hardest part would be finding one that not only suited my taste, but would also have a price tag that I could justify. After I did some more searching I quickly found out that I am not alone in my taste. There were hundreds of these kinds of horses up for auction and as I had mentioned none of them were cheap.
