the ninth episode The first two discs of Alias season three that Netflix sent me were episodes that I had already seen on television so I was very happy when I found out that the first episode on disc three was new to me. Before I watched the first two discs I didn't know that I had made it half way through the season before I started to miss episodes. I thought that I had dropped out earlier than I had. Part of me wishes that I knew that piece of information before I rented those two discs, but there is nothing that I can do about it now. Starting with the ninth episode the missing two years of Sydney's life came to light and I thought that it was about time. For a while I was beginning to think that we the viewers wouldn't get any answers until the very end of the season. Finding out that she was the one who caused her memory loss made sense to me and I was perfectly happy with that explanation. I also liked the fact that Lauren was in fact a double agent working for the Covenant. My only fear now is that the remaining ten episodes will seem like a let down after learning what happened to Sydney while she was Julia Thorne. Quite a few reviews on Amazon say that the third season didn't match the quality of the first two and that is what worries me. Maybe the momentum of the series does get lost. |
