million dollar disaster These past few days have been far more haphazard than I imagined they would be when I walked out of work Tuesday morning. From my perspective they were an odd mix of grocery shopping, watching movies, doing laundry and sleeping on my couch. That was not quite what I had envisioned would happen, but it ended up being that way. On the plus side, I managed to get the oil changed on my car and have it washed for the first time this year, but on the down side I was hoping for a little more to get done around my place. There are things that either need to be put away somewhere or should be thrown out. I am getting tired of having to walk around piles of stuff on both my living room and kitchen floors. My living space shouldn't double as an obstacle course. ... I knew next to nothing about the movie The Million Dollar Hotel before I watched it this morning. All that I knew was that U2 did the soundtrack for the film, Milla Jovovich was in it and that Wim Wenders directed it. Everything else including the plot was unknown to me. Now having seen the film, I can understand the negative reviews that I read online. None of the characters interested me and as a result I didn't care what happened to them. I just wanted the movie to end so that I could return it and get something else. It was a movie that was trying to be smart, but failed. Maybe I was in the wrong frame of mind, but I can't remember the last time I couldn't sit down for an entire movie. Wait. I retract that last statement. It took me two attempts to get through Ashes of Time, but that had more to do with the fact that I was too tired to read the subtitles the first time that I started to watch it. Million Dollar Hotel was just annoying in my opinion and everyone was speaking English. |
